Director of Programs
and Operations

Reports to:  Executive Directorand Board Member 

Schedule:   20-40hr. perweek;Monday through Friday 

Location: Lincoln, NE Office 

Salary Range:  Fundraised Position

Job Summary: 

  • Oversee the activities of workers and volunteers and ensure that the organization is on track to meet its mission goals. 

  • Develop and implement strategic plan for IMF programs and operations, prepare reports for the Board and ensure that all staff, partner organizations and institutions comply with the organization’s policies. 

  • Ensure that missionary staff, volunteers, and committees have the resources they need to complete their work. Serve the committees and staff to evaluate their performance against the organizations mission’s goals and objectives and offer support when necessary. 

  • Works directly with the Executive Director to fundraise for IMF.

  • Assists the organization in writing grants and planning fundraising events, with the opportunity to go on at least 1-2 international missions a year.  

     

    Job Description and Responsibilities:  

    • Oversee the activities of workers and volunteers. 
    • Setting goals for staff, evaluating their performance, and mentoring them to achieve their maximum potenetials. 
    • Meeting with staff for an hour once every week. 
    • Ensure that the organization is on track to meet its mission.  
    • Evaluate staff performance against the organization’s goals and  objectives.
    • Review the organizations business and development plan to ensure that we are on track with our quarterly and yearly  goals.
    • Develop a strategic plan for IMF programs and operations that would allow the organization to properly implement its business and development plan  effectively.
    • Work with one of the advisory members on strategies.  
    • Prepare reports for IMF board and ensure that all staff, partner organizations and institutions comply with the organizations  policies.
    • Prepare quarterly and yearly reports of IMF operations, for the advisory and managing board,  respectively.
    • Draft simple policies reflecting the core value of IMF and its operations, and ensure that staff, volunteers, and organizations adhere to our policies. 
    • Ensure that missionary staff, volunteers, and committees have the resources they need to complete their work.  
    • Work with the staff, volunteers and institutions or organizations to ensure that they have necessary material needed for their missions and operations.  
    • Help develop a manual on how to lead IMF missions, together with our missionary staff and volunteers. 
    • Work with different organizations that would partner with IMF and assist in donating medical equipment and related  items.
    • Assist in writing grants for some of the organization’s projects, missions, and operations. 
    • Fundraise alongside the Executive Director for the IMF operations
      • Maintain and expand IMF’s funding from individuals and develop new sources of income from businesses, private foundations, fundraising events and grant writing among others.  
      • Organize individual donor campaigns (e.g., major donors and direct mail).
      • Organize solicitation drives for pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
        • Serve the committees to evaluate their performance against the organizations mission goals and objectives and offer support when necessary. 
        • Work with our development and leadership committees to ensure that they know their goals, objectives, and expectations with deadlines.  
        • Provide them with the necessary materials needed to achieve their goals  
        • Opportunity to go on at least 1-2 international missions a year. 
        • Responsible for fundraising 100% of personal salary 

    Position Specifications/Requirements: 

    • Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
      • Be a practicing Christian/Catholic. 
      • Demonstrate capability to carry out administrative and supervisory duties in a timely fashion, be an excellent communicator orally and in  writing. 
      • Ability to read, develop and manage budgets and must be a problem solver.  
    • Education, Training and/or Experience:
      • BA in business administration preferably or any other related field. Proficiency in composing reports, correspondence, and letters and in publishing e-newsletters and flyers, ability to develop and facilitate mission trips; ability to read and understand church documents and guidelines. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office.

    Key Things to Note: 

    • This is a Catholic organization that would focus on engaging Catholics, but very open to other Christian denominations that believe in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  
    • The organization is subject to the leadership of the local ordinary here in Lincoln, which is Bishop James Conley, and the local Catholic  pastors.

Director of
P2P Missions

Report to: Executive Director 

Schedule: 40hours/week; Full Time   

Location: Works in a spiritual, professional, and mission-oriented environment at the Lincoln, NE office.

Salary: Fundraised Position 

Job Summary: (to include but not limited to)  

Major Position Responsibilities and Regular Activities include: 

  • Responsible for the performance of all duties and functions associated with engaging and recruiting parishes in the US to participate in our Parish2Parish relationships/missions.  
  • Oversee and provide leadership to pastors and parish councils that are interested in our P2P relationships/missions.  
  • Oversee and provide mentoring/coaching to Mission Planning Committees (MPC), as well as, planning and execution of international missions. 
  • Provide vision for building a solid foundation for P2P relationships, and maintenance of proper financial records and reports. 
  • Oversee the finetuning of the process of our P2P relationships and strategy.  
  • Responsible for all of the functions associated with pre, on and post mission activities. (Which includes but not limited to co-planning parish retreats, giving talks, praying with parishioners, co-leading mission trips, and facilitating an atmosphere for parish renewal.)  

Positions Specifications/Requirements: 

  • Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
    • Be a practicing Catholic 
    • Knowledge of basic administrative and organizational skills
    • Be an excellent communicator orally and in writing 
    • Proficient in various computer software programs (Microsoft Office products ) 
    • Ability to manage budget 
    • Ability to lead mission trips    
    • Work well with parishes and know how to lead a team of volunteers
  • Minimum 2-year commitment 
  •  Education, Training and/or Experience:
    • BA in any field and/or a certificate in ministry or theology from a Catholic institution of higher learning. 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in composing reports, correspondence and letters and in publishing e-newsletters and flyers, ability to read and understand church documents and guidelines. 
    • Ability to read, prepare, and manage budgets 
    • The employee must have knowledge of current poverty facts and statistics and be open to other cultures. Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality. 
    • A previous experience of a mission trip would be highly beneficial 

Working Environment 

  • Works in a spiritual, professional, and mission-oriented environment at the Lincoln, NE office. 
  • Forty hours per week from Monday through Friday with occasional weekend or evening commitments.
